Unique Approach to the Research Process

Having been both a research provider and an end user, Dave approaches marketing research from a 360-degree communication perspective, influenced by Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) and Enterprise Feedback Management (EFM). Every effort is made to deploy research across functional areas of the organization outward to the external stakeholders, scaled to the needs and size of the client.

The role of Dave Roberts is to provide the client with a single point of contact who coordinates executes all of the components of a successful research initiative, including—

  • Recommending the appropriate research methodology, the target stakeholders, sample sizes, and the like.
  • Selecting the appropriate research partners such as focus group facilities, outbound call centers (US only), and sampling providers.
  • Synthesizing the information needs articulated by the members of the leadership team into an effective research instrument; that is, the questionnaire.
  • Performing sophisticated analyses designed to turn the raw data into actionable findings.


Dave Roberts earned his Doctorate in Communication from the University of Oregon in 1981 and established Roberts Research in 1985. He also spent many years as a broadcaster including as air personality, programmer, researcher, and as a corporate officer for CBS and RKO Radio. While his research experience began in radio, he has branched out into a wide array of client categories:  Retail, Governmental, Non Profit, Education, Advertising, Public Relations, High Tech, and more.
